Welcome
Hi friends,
Welcome to my nursing portfolio website! I’m excited to share my journey through nursing school and the experiences that are shaping me into a future nurse. I am currently a sophomore in college, and I look forward to growing both personally and professionally throughout this process.
I am passionate about entering the healthcare field and grateful for the opportunity to learn, serve, and make a meaningful impact in patients’ lives. This space will reflect my growth, clinical experiences, and the lessons I gain along the way.
I hope this journey not only documents my progress but also encourages learning, reflection, and connection as we grow together in healthcare.
Faith Statement
I was raised in a Christian household and came to a personal relationship with Christ in third grade, when I gave my life to Him. My faith has remained a foundational part of who I am and has guided me through both personal and academic growth. I truly would not be where I am today without God’s presence, guidance, and faithfulness in my life.
I am passionate about serving others and living out my faith through compassion, kindness, and care for those around me. I also desire to share the hope of the Gospel and reflect God’s love to those who may not have experienced His goodness.
"For with God nothing will be impossible."
Luke 1:37
Why I Pursue Nursing
Unlike many, I did not initially plan to enter the healthcare field. I once assumed I would struggle with the clinical aspects of nursing, such as exposure to bodily fluids or medical procedures. However, after speaking with healthcare professionals and gaining exposure to the hospital environment, I realized I could adapt and grow into this role.
As I learned more about nursing, I became increasingly aware of the physical and emotional demands of the profession, including burnout and underappreciation within the field. Despite these challenges, I also saw the incredible impact nurses have on patients every day. Even during long and demanding 12-hour shifts, nurses have the ability to bring comfort, healing, and joy back into a patient’s life.
I am especially drawn to both pediatric nursing—including NICU and PICU care—as well as emergency department nursing. The fast-paced environment of the ED, combined with the need for critical thinking, teamwork, and rapid decision-making, is something I find both challenging and motivating. I appreciate the opportunity to care for patients during some of their most critical and unpredictable moments, while providing calm, compassionate care under pressure.
Although I understand these specialties are emotionally and clinically demanding, I feel strongly called to work in these areas. I remain open to where my clinical experiences may lead me as I continue through nursing school.
After completing my BSN, I plan to further my education by pursuing a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). I also hope to explore travel nursing opportunities to gain experience in different healthcare systems and broaden my clinical perspective.
At the core of my “why” is a desire to care for others and make a meaningful difference in their lives. As a Christian, my faith plays a central role in my calling to nursing. I believe I am meant to serve others, show compassion, and share God’s love through my actions and care for patients. As written in Matthew 28:19–20, I feel called to go wherever I am needed.
Ultimately, I am committed to using nursing as a way to serve, heal, and bring hope to others—wherever that path may lead.
